Infusing grandeur into otherwise drab Mondays with five things/ideas/events for the week:

I.  Despite the record-breaking (and earthquake inducing) heat wave in San Francisco over the weekend, I spent the majority of daylight indoors prepping tablescape mock-ups for T&T. The first one garnered more social media interest than anticipated when I posted a picture that cheekily included my chucks (surprisingly, table mock-ups aren’t actually mocked up on tables). I received literally dozens of inquires about where to find the octopus salad plate, so rather than reply individually, I’ll share the knowledge with all of you. Here are some options: as pictured, even better, and slightly more subtle for those of you hoping to incorporate the sea creature into your existing china patterns.

II.  After spending my entire Sunday working, I decided to treat myself to a delicious homemade meal. Traditionally a fan of heavier dishes, but craving something refreshing due to the unusual weather, I settled on Brown Sugar Shrimp Tacos with Honey Habanero Slaw. The bright citrus and spicy pepper flavors combined with sweet accompany the crustacean beautifully. The best part is how easy it is to make such a mouthwatering meal - I promise you’ll be in and out of the kitchen in 15-minutes. Pair with a pisco sour for the perfect hot weather dinner.

III.  Realizing that it’s been over a year since I’ve hosted a dinner party chez moi, I invited a group of my favorite people over Saturday evening. Now that it’s almost September, it dawned on me that this is the last chance to celebrate all things summer before the end of the season. Figs, sweet corn, heirloom tomatoes, and peaches will definitely be making an appearance on the menu. For decor, I’m keeping things whimsical with fairy lights in mason jars, magnolias from the Flower Mart, and these darling flamingo balloons. Before you know it, we’ll be replacing fresh blooms with pumpkins and rearranging our living rooms for Christmas Trees!

IV.  If you haven’t already, make sure that you reserve a ticket for the Guardsmen Lawn Party on the Marina Green September 15th. Four years running, means that the boys have perfected this yearly event, featuring food trucks, live DJs and lawn games on the waterfront. This is the ideal venue to show off your sundresses and Chubbies before pulling out the heavy knits and cashmere for autumn.

V.  You’ll be the most popular attendee at the Lawn Party if you bring a case of these adorably delicious frozen champagne pops. The geniuses behind Fortnum & Mason paired with popsicle company, aptly called Pops, to create special edition champagne popsicles for summer. Unfortunately, they are only available in the UK… If you can’t procure a last minute-import, no worries! Recreate the blanc de blancs icies at home using a plethora of recipes available on the internet. My personal favorite is the French 75 Popsicle from the blog Reclaiming Provincial.

Have a wonderful week!  xx tt
