Infusing grandeur into otherwise drab Monday mornings with five things/ideas/events for the week:

I.  With my coffee table tray completely tricked-out, I’ve moved on to filling my desk tray.  I custom ordered the lucite tray from Iomoi, and accessorized it with a makeshift Straus Creamery vase, Jonathan Adler ‘Love’ porcelain jar, sea urchin sugar bowl, and a blown glass starfish that I picked up at a crafts fair in Tahoe.

II.  It’s raining again in San Francisco, which inspired me to bake this morning. Nothing smells more amazing than cinnamon, butter, and puff pastry in the oven, so I decided to make a French Apple Tart.  Though it appears that this tart took all-day to make, it only takes thirty-minutes of prep work!

III.  With birthdays on the brain (October brings my own, my father’s, my grandmother’s, and multiple friends’) I have been researching fun ideas for party decor.  I love this ten-foot DIY candelabra, requiring only a piece of wood, a drill, and as many candles as your heart desires! Here are more detailed instructions.

IV.  Searching for birthday presents, I found these adorable acrylic coasters by fashion icon DVF’s daughter, Alexandra Von Furstenberg.  They are the perfect colorful addition to my mostly black and white apartment.

V.  Every year I order a new set of monogrammed towels from Neiman Marcus.  I usually go for big fluffy bath sheets, but this year I wanted something more chic.  I settled on these Princess Lace Towels by Cobra Trading, which I just found out are majorly on sale this week.

Have a wonderful week!  xx tt
