Infusing grandeur into otherwise drab Monday mornings with five things/ideas/events for the week:

I.  The weather in the Bay Area has been schizophrenic lately.  We went from a beautiful Indian Summer on Thursday to a torrential downpour Saturday morning.  Embracing the shift, I swapped my pool party plans to stay in for the day.  After lighting every candle in my apartment, I made this delicious Mexican Hot Chocolate and settled in for a John Hughes marathon.

II.  On the hunt for tablescape decor at one of my go-to stores, Cost Plus World Market, I happened upon this gold mirrored butler tray table.  Focused on the task at hand, I quickly passed by the table, but couldn’t seem to get it out of my head - I had to have it. Given that my apartment has been designed to the max, I don’t have need for a random, albeit beautiful, accent table… Not one to be dissuaded by logistics, I will be purchasing it anyway and storing it under my bed until I figure out where to put it.

III.  Blake Lively killed it at the Milan Fashion Week Gucci show.  This is an amazing look for Fall - mustard yellow with a burgundy lip, reminiscent of Michelle Williams’ 2006 Oscars styling.  To mimic the chic aesthetic, throw on this frock and gilded bracelet inspired by the horsebit fashion house, and apply this lipstick and liner.

IV.  Andy Warhol once said, “I always visit Bulgari because it is the most important museum of contemporary art.”  Well San Francisco’s de Young took heed, and decided to put the infamous jewelry brand in an actual museum.  Catch the exhibit, containing 150 pieces created by the Italian jeweler, through February 17th.  I’m particularly excited to see the pieces from Elizabeth Taylor’s private collection.  Check out coverage from the glamorous star-studded opening party here.

V.  I found this image on Pinterest, and was instantly obsessed with the book-filled lucite nightstand.  I have a problem committing to one book at a time, which means that my bed-side table is a literary tower of half-read books, with room for little else.  Unfortunately, the photograph didn’t link to any information about where to buy the nightstand.  After a little research, I discovered that the stand is from CB2.  I will be ordering one immediately!

Have a wonderful week!  xx tt
