Infusing grandeur into otherwise drab Monday mornings with five things/ideas/events for the week:

I.  Inspired by the change in season, I ordered this gorgeous chevron runner in yellow from an Etsy shop.  Topping the runner with fresh garden roses and succulents transformed my dining room for the start of Spring.

II.  Over the weekend, I shucked oysters for the first time!  The experience was thrilling, albeit a bit dangerous.  Learn how to shuck your own from this detailed article by John Finger (ironic surname - I wonder if he still has all of his…) of Hog Island Oysters.

III.  Speaking of oysters, for the less brave among you - head down to the newly opened Mission Street Oyster Bar for some pre-shucked mollusks.  Pair $1 oysters with bubbles during the restaurant’s daily happy hour from 3-6PM.

IV.  Temperatures in San Francisco fell dramatically overnight.  It’s difficult to believe that only yesterday I was lazing in the sun with margaritas on the Bay.  To keep cozy this week, I’m making a batch of my favorite bourbon baked apples.

V.  A friend recently pointed out that not everyone has (or wants) fancy table linens on hand for dinner parties and luncheons a la maison.  To remedy this, I discovered that you can rent tablecloths and napkins from La Tavola (also useful for those of you planning summer weddings). With locations throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, and Texas - this is a great company to keep on your speed dial.

Have a wonderful week!!  xx tt
