Infusing grandeur into otherwise drab Monday mornings with five things/ideas/events for the week:

I.  I’ve been coveting the Paul Villinksi butterfly instillation on Gossip Girl since I first laid eyes on it.  Unfortunately, the artist’s work (made from cans found in the streets of New York) is a bit out of my price range.  Instead, I recreated it in my dining room using adhesive paper versions from Etsy. Try it yourself - it’s incredibly easy and the perfect conversation piece!

II.  Living in a studio (with a formal dining room - yes, I understand how bizarre that is) means that I don’t have a fireplace.  After longing for one last winter, I decided to exercise my creativity by creating a similar feel with a combination of this lantern from Pottery Barn and a Dyptique candle. Try these birch pillars to complete the faux-fire aesthetic.

III.  These demitasse wooden spoons adorned with gold and silver chevrons are perfect for tea parties or ice cream socials.  Take a peek at this darling party website called Shop Sweet Lulu for everything from striped paper straws to miniature farmstand milk bottles.

IV.  I found this sweet silver ring on Pinterest and knew that they would be the perfect stocking stuffer for Christmas.  For thirty-five dollars who can resist a monogram?

V.  Taking full advantage of this season’s sales, I just indulged in a gift for myself by ordering a new apron from Williams-Sonoma with my blog’s initials.  Surprise your favorite chef with one in his or her favorite color scheme.

Have a wonderful week!  xx tt
