As the holidays come to a close and we embark upon a brand new year, I find myself reevaluating my nutritional regime. Right before Christmas I successfully completed a three-day juice cleanse, but immediately followed it with two weeks of indulgence. Instead of repeating the extreme abstinence from solids, I’ve resolved to start eating better generally.
Completely removing comfort food is...
I am taking this week off, but will be back next week with a brand new delicious recipe (think comfort food with a healthy Mediterranean twist). In the meantime, here is a sneak peak at the menu for my New Year’s Eve dinner party.
Wishing everyone the best year yet in 2013! xx tt
Infusing grandeur into otherwise drab Monday mornings with five things/ideas/events for the week:
I. I stumbled upon this photograph and fell in love with the glamorous aesthetic. To achieve something similar, I ordered sheepskins to drape over my ghost chairs. The juxtaposition between modern acrylic and rustic animal hide create a luxurious feel.
II. This sweet arrangement in my entryway...
Did you know that oranges are a fruit not found in nature? I didn’t. Apparently they are a manmade creation – a hybrid of pomelo and mandarin, cultivated since antiquity. Knowing this inspired me to cook with the seemingly ordinary fruit with a secret sordid past.
But what to make in the middle of winter with citrus? I’ve long been a fan of homemade orange sorbet, but that is decidedly a...

I. All that glitters is gold this season, but you can keep the glitter going perennially by adding some gilded objets to your home decor. I found these whimsical pig bookends at CB2 for $30. Besides their obvious use, these little piggies make me smile every morning.
II. Delarosais known for its...
In an era where every recipe imaginable is readily available via the internet, it is a sweet surprise to receive a recipe recommendation from someone who you actually know. While reading comments or blogs about how fabulous a dish is may do the trick, nothing inspires confidence quite like a rave review from a confidant.
On a recent wintery evening, a friend posted a scrumptious photograph of...

I. I’ve been coveting the Paul Villinksi butterfly instillation on Gossip Girl since I first laid eyes on it. Unfortunately, the artist’s work (made from cans found in the streets of New York) is a bit out of my price range. Instead, I recreated it in my dining room using adhesive paper versions...
